Converting Miscellaneous Labour Lines

This option allows you to convert the taken times of miscellaneous labour lines to the correct RTS codes, with the original technicians assigned and ready to invoice.

To convert miscellaneous labour lines:

In Service Point-of-Sale, create a WIP and add the miscellaneous labour line(s) to be used.

Complete the labour lines (clock on and off if Workshop Loading is being used).  Set the status of the line to C Completed Work

In the WIP add the correct RTS code(s) and set these lines to status E ‘Extra’

Note: These lines must include Time allowed.

Select the Convert miscellaneous labour lines option from the Tools menu.

The Convert miscellaneous labour lines form is displayed.

From the Existing lines (from) group box, select the miscellaneous labour line that you want to convert (tick the box to the left).

Note: If you have more than one miscellaneous labour line on the WIP, you can only convert each line separately.

Click the Right arrow button.

The Time Taken on the miscellaneous labour line is allocated to the new lines on the WIP at status E ‘Extra’. The time is split pro-rata based on the allowed time of the lines set to E, as below.

The Convert to text lines check box is ticked as a default - this will convert the miscellaneous lines to text lines.

Note: If this box is not ticked, the original miscellaneous line will be marked for deletion.

Click the OK button to update the extra lines at status E ‘Extra’ on the WIP with the new Taken Times.

The new lines are completed (set to status C) and ready to invoice (set to invoice status I). The original labour line is converted to a text line so that it can be shown on the customer's invoice.
