Labour operations are input via the first field of the New product group field on the Point-of-Sale form. Two options are available to put a new product line onto the WIP:
1. Type in the required Repair Time Schedule (RTS) code preceeded by a space and press the tab key.
2. Use the word-search option. To do this, click on the search button on New Product field (...). Select Labour.
Type in a word or group of up to three words (preceded by a space, and each word separated by a single space), that you think may exist within the RTS record so that the system can match them in its search of the RTS code file.
For example, if a search is made for service oil, any record containing both these words is displayed, together with the RTS code, short name and description. If just the word ‘service’ is used, the search results in a greater number of matches and all such matches are displayed. To select the required RTS code, double-click the operation. The word search takes a little practice but is a particularly useful tool for identifying records from within what can possibly be a very large RTS code file.
Enter the RTS code using one of the two methods described above. If the operation is found on the RTS code file, the Labour Details form is displayed.
Amend any details as required on the Labour form.
More than six lines of text may be entered per labour operation and separate text for the job card as opposed to the invoice may also be entered.
If this feature is available for the RTS code that you are amending then you will notice that the standard text box is set to read only and a button appears below it called Text lines.
By clicking on this button you are able to amend the text for the Job card (the Technician text box) and the Invoice (the Customer text box).
Complete the labour details and click OK to load the operation onto the WIP.
Expanded RTS Text Maintenance
A user with the proper permission may amend the standard text that is saved against the RTS codes.
Access Country specifics / NZ / Point of Sales.
You will find an entry for Expanded RTS codes and it is in this function that you can create and amend the standard text for each RTS code.
RTS Codes Maintenance
Depending on your permission, you can change the default information stored in the RTS codes.
