There is a balance in over-allowance clearing account even though vehicle was a direct purchase and not a trade-in vehicle.

This is because the difference between a used vehicle's purchase price and stock value is posted into this account once the vehicle has gone to account status code A (Adopted).

Vehicle purchase price and stock value are entered at Purchase Brief tab under Vehicle Administration option.

                                                                                          Figure-1

From figure-1 it can be seen that there is a difference of $500 between the purchase price of this used car and stock value. Where the Purchase Price and Stock Value fields are not the same, a balance will be created in over-allowance clearing account.

Trade-in reference field is blank which highlights that this is a direct purchase and not a trade-in vehicle.

If a Purchase invoice has been raised you will need to credit the purchase invoice and change the vehicle status to Memorandum before updating the figures and re-purchasing the vehicle.
