During work on a customer’s vehicle the technician may discover additional work. Ideally this work would be authorized and completed at the same time; however due to customer time or budget constraints a reminder is needed.

Load the additional work onto the WIP screen as normal; this is usually left at M status awaiting the customers’ decision. The example shown below is a Front Brakes change that has been identified during a routine service

If the customer does not wish the work to be carried out at this time and you wish to set up a reminder, right click in the “P-Progress” column for the relevant line. This will display the available status menu. Select N for notice from the menu

You will then need to set a “Reminder Date” for following up the Customer.

This will set the line to a status of N, which has not financial implication on the invoice.

When the customer record is next loaded in the system the Casefile will automatically be displayed, with a line for ‘Reminders‘. To see the details click on the icon and this will display the reminder

When the Vehicle is next loaded onto a WIP the Reminder Notice will Automatically be offered:

There are three Load mode options :

If you take the “OK” option the new WIP that is created will contain the reminder line, displayed at a status of ‘M’, and it can then be treated as any other labour line.

Taking the ‘Cancel’ option will not pull the line onto the WIP but will retain the information on the case file which will be presented again when the next new WIP is created.

The ‘Delete’ option will not pull the line on the WIP and the information will be permanently deleted from the case file. This means the information will not be offered next time a new WIP is set up for the vehicle.
