It is important that lines are pushed from a VSB record and linked correctly to a WIP.

  • Point of Sale - Open a blank WIP
  • Displayed at the top of the screen will be a message Vehicle preparation work due today.

  • The message can also read Vehicle preparation work overdue if a WIP has not been created by the time requested when the spec line was pushed.
  • Note: In order to be able to access the option “Vehicle Preparation” and see the message in red, you need to have this option enabled on your terminal details record in Point of Sale
  • Access the Links menu on the toolbar and select the Vehicle Preparation option. A list of vehicles requiring work will be displayed

  • Upon selecting the required vehicle, a list will show you the individual lines required for that stock number. By default they will be highlighted for selecting.  If you do not wish to carry out a particular line at this time you can click to de-select it

When you have made your selection, select the Create WIP option. This will automatically create a WIP for you with the necessary vehicle spec lines as Text lines. The account number will also be defaulted to the Vehicle Preparation account. The Create WIP selection will not be available if another user is in the VSB record
Note: If there is already a WIP open for this vehicle, you will be presented with the option to add to the current WIP or disregard and create a new WIP

Do not create a WIP without a line being pushed from VSB as the “link” will not exist. Changing the default account from Cash sale to vehicle prep will not create a VSB link, only pushing lines will do that. Once the lines have been pushed and a WIP created parts will need to remove and read parts, adjust clocking to transfer time etc to remove from the old WIP to the new WIP
