Did you know that Autoline has a new feature where vehicle's selling location can be linked to its physical location regardless of salespersons' primary location under Vehicle Administration.

Traditionally Autoline (upon accepting customer orders) updated vehicle's selling location with the salesperson's primary location. This caused issues at some dealerships where they always wanted selling location to be same as vehicle's physical location regardless of salespersons' location, some of the common scenarios which existed before this new feature

Used & New Vehicles Sold by same Sales Executive

For example, you can have a scenario where a salesperson sells both new and used vehicles. A salesperson in Autoline can be only be setup to have one location which is usually linked to their main business activity e.g. NEW. But if new & used vehicles are stored in different physical locations such as (NEW and USED), when the order was accepted for used vehicles for this salesperson, someone will have to manually update the selling location in Autoline to be USED. New feature overcomes this issue and as soon as vehicle moves to "A-Adopted" status or above, vehicle's selling location is updated to be same as physical location which means user will no more be required to update the selling location manually.

Multiple Franchises sold by same Sales Executive

Many of our large customers face this issue where same salesperson sells multiple franchised vehicles which are physically stored in different locations. Since salesperson could have only one location in their setup e.g. HYU when the same salesperson sold vehicles for other franchises such as ISU, MBX, BMW, HOL someone would have to manually update the selling location before invoicing the vehicle. Which means if user forgot to manually update the selling location there will be mismatch between vehicle's physical and selling location causing reporting and accounts postings issues. New feature avoids this scenario and vehicle's selling location will be always same as physical location.

We understand that some dealerships will still prefer to have selling location to linked to salespersons' location instead of vehicle's physical location, therefore this new feature is parameter controlled which means if this parameter is not enabled the "default" behavior will be in place.

Example:

Vehicle at "M" status and physical location is "090"

Selling location currently is "DEM"

Updated vehicle's account status to "A-Adopted"

Vehicle's selling location automatically got updated to be same as physical location (090):
