There are times when a part that was issued out needs to be returned to stock.

There are different ways of returning a part into stock depending on the status of the part.

Scenario 1:

If the part has been requisitioned but has not been invoiced yet, perform a reverse requisition by right-clicking on the P status.  The status of the part will change from X to !. Save the WIP.

The part line on the WIP will be deleted automatically and if you check the movement, the part is returned to stock.

Scenario 2:

If the part has been invoiced already, it has to be credited first before returning the part to stock. To do this, right-click on the I status of the line.  The status will change from X to C.  The system will mark the line ready for partial credit and will give you the option to return the part to stock.  This prompt will only pop up once.  If you are sure you want to return the part to stock, click Yes.

A new line will be created automatically with a negative quantity.  You can then requisition or invoice this line to return the part into stock.

Scenario 3:

If the part has been invoiced and credited already but was not returned to stock, OR if the WIP has already dropped off the system.  The only way to return the part to stock is to create a new line with a negative quantity.

When the new line with negative quantity is requisitioned or invoiced., the part will be returned to stock.
