Parameters and set-up
You find the new relationships parameters in CRM > System maintenance > System parameters. The new tab Relationships provide you with five parameters determining the update process of the contact executive of a customer.
Relationships parameters
Clicking the Relationships tab for the first time the parameter values are blank.
The parameters are assigned to the vehicle sales and after sales area. This is corresponding to the areas the users are assigned to within System Utilities > Management Menu > User details > User CRM Details in field Department type (valid values: S - Vehicle Sales, A - After sales and B - Both). The Department type specifies the CRM department the user belongs to.
Note: If the Department type Both is used, then the user’s department is compared to the department code and the associated area (CRM > Miscellaneous options > Department codes). The area will determine whether vehicle sales or after sales is used. If the associated area is Both then a decision isn’t possible and no changes will be made.
Parameter values and their meaning
In the following the parameter values and their meaning are described.
Vehicle sales – CRM update from?
The parameter can hold the following values:
- “Blank”
- Branch default
- Creating user
The default value of this parameter is blank. The enhancement will not be used.
A different value determines the user to be used as contact executive for the current customer within the vehicle sales departments.
If Branch Default is selected the entry within the customer cost centre defaults (MK.ccdef) file for the location of the user will be the contact executive.
If Creating User is selected then the user creating the record will be the contact executive.
Vehicle sales – SR update status?
The parameter can hold the following values:
- Enquiry
- Quote
- Order
- Confirmation
- Accepted
- Every status
- No update
If a customer is used in Showroom the contact executive can be updated on the change of the status of a quote.
If you select one of the states (Enquiry, Quote, Order, Confirmation, Accepted) the contact executive is updated only when the quote reaches that state. If you set the parameter to Every status the contact executive is updated when the status of a quote has changed. To avoid an update of the contact executive set the parameter value to No update.
The current user is utilized in case of an update of the contact executive. If a customer record is created from within Showroom and not CRM then the Vehicle sales – CRM update from? - Parameter decides which user id is used as contact executive.
Vehicle sales – VS update status?
The parameter can hold the following values:
- Sales executive change
- Invoice
- Close
- Every status
- No update

If you set the parameter to Every status the contact executive is updated every time when one of these events took place. To avoid an update of the contact executive set the parameter value to No update.
The current user is utilized in case of an update of the contact executive. Only when a vehicle stock book record has a customer and Sales Exec defined an update to the associated MK.tarcc will occur.
