Default printers and Point-of-sale access is controlled by your terminal number.

A terminal number is assigned the first time a PC with name unknown to Autoline logs in.

When the machine first logs in it is assigned a new terminal number - The Autoline termfile adds the PC Name to the file and assigns the next free Terminal number.

This means there will be no default printer or Point-of-sale access for a new PC by default.

When someone in your dealership receives a new PC / Laptop,
Or perhaps you have decided to rename all the existing PC's to a new naming convetion.
The most efficient way for them to retain the same terminal settings for Printing and Point-of-sale access is for them to retain the same terminal number as their old machine.

There are multiple ways to achieve this.

1) Give the replacement machine the exact same name as the old machine.

2) Replace the PC name assigned to the existing Terminal number.

Ideally you should make this change before logging in to Autoline for the first time on the new machine

To change the PC name recorded against an existing Terminal Number.
System Utilities / Management Menu / Termfile Editor
Thie function requires System Utilities level 8 permission.

You can click on any column heading to sort.

Changing the PC name

Find the existing entry you wish to change - and select / amend - or double click

Update the name to the new PC name

Click OK

Click Save (at the top)

The next time the user logs in they will get the terminal number assigned.

Note : If you didnt perform this before logging in for the first time on the new machine, then it will already have another Terminal Number.
You are not able to have multiple Terminal Numbers assigned to the same PC name.
You will either need to Delete the new Terminal Number, or amend the PC name to something fictitious to allow you to put the new name against the old terminal number.
