Are you looking to link a customer to a vehicle, a customer to a company or a company to a parent company?

Linking a Vehicle to a Customer

In the CRM Module select the vehicle record you want to attach to a customer. 




In Edit mode, click on the Sales contact. Search for the customer you want to vehicle to be linked to, click Load.






The linked customer will be displayed in the Sales contact field. 

You will need to repeat the process for the Aftersales contact and Driver links should they be required. 

Save the record. 

Note: if you link the Driver contact first, this will automatically fill the Sales contact, Aftersales contact and the Driver at the same time. 

Linking a Customer to a Company

Select the customer record you want to link to a company. 




In Edit mode click on the Company icon in CRM Shortcuts




Use the Search screen to locate the company, click Load.




The company name is displayed in the Company field on the Additional Details tab. 




Save the record. 


Linking a Company to a Parent Company

Note: Prior to this step ensure that the Parent Company is already created in the system.

Find the company you want to add the Parent Company to and go to Edit mode.

Select Parent-Company from the Company options menu in the menu bar.




The following message will appear. 




Click Yes to attach a parent company or No to exit. 

Use the Search screen to locate the company you want to link the company to, click Load. 




The linked parent company will now be displayed in the Parent company field on the Additional Details tab. 




De-Linking a Customer from a Vehicle. 

Note: when delinking a customer from a vehicle you can either delink a customer and link a new customer or you can delink without adding a new customer. 

Using the registration number, search for the vehicle and click Load.




Click on the Edit button. 





Click on Sales contacts to de-link the existing contact and the system will then give you the option to link a new contact to the vehicle.

Search for the customer who will now be linked to the vehicle, click Load





Repeat the process for Aftersales contact and Driver should they be required.

Once the new owner has been linked to the vehicle, select Save.

To de-link a customer without adding a new customer follow the same process as above, however on the search screen, click on Cancel. 




You will be prompted to confirm the removal of the contact link, click Yes to proceed.




Repeat the process for Sales contact, Aftersales contact and Driver.

Click Save to save the changes,

Since the customer/vehicle links have been de-linked you will be asked if you want to retain the previous link. 




Note: For historical purposes, it is best practice to select the Retain option to keep the previous owner information on the system. 


De-Linking a Company from a Customer


To remove a company link from a customer record, load the customer's record and click Edit




Select the Company icon in CRM Shortcuts and the following message appears.




Click Yes, to remove the current link. This will take you back to the customer record.

The company name has been removed from the Company field on the Additional Details tab.




Save the record. 


De-Linking a Company from a Parent Company


Search for and load the company record, go to Edit mode. 




Select Company options from the menu bar and select Parent-Company.

The following message screen appears. 




Select Detach-Company-from-parent, click OK.

Save the record.
