If you are unable to edit the registration number of a vehicle in CRM, you should check that this vehicle does not exist in Vehicle stockbooks

  • Load the vehicle record in CRM
  • Select the Current tab
  • Check the status of the vehicle
  • If the status shows as S or then the vehicle is VSB Controlled - this means that certain fields can only be amended via the record in Vehicle Stockbooks.


  • Note the VSB Reference - this will include N or U (New of Used), the company identifier, for example 01, and a 6 digit stockbook reference


  • The registration number can be edited in the stock record, if you do not have permission to do this then you should contact your Sales Administration.
  • On a new vehicle stockbook record the Registration number field  is located on the Sales Brief page, on a used stockbook vehicle it is on the Identity page.
